“Growing up I did not feel safe”, Christina Aguilera used to tell about her early family life. The star doesn’t like to tell about her childhood, because it was quite troubled.

The daughter of Fausto Xavier Aguilera, who used to be an army sergeant, and of Shelly Loraine Fidler, the musician, she grew up together with her sister, half sister and two half brothers. Her biological father is of Ecuadorian descent and Christina is proud to wear his surname, because she doesn’t want to forget her roots.

The star avoided her father, who was physically abusive but she hope that they can rebuild their relationship. Fausto has raised a hand to his wife, Shelly, and his two daughters, Christina and Rachel.

When the girl was 2, she and her mother left their hot-tempered man and moved to Pennsylvania. There Shelly re-married Jim Kearns and gave a birth to one more kid – Michael (Mikey) Kearns. The Kearns family lived a happy life and Fausto even suggested Jim to adopt Christina. But the future star refused, because she felt, she was Aguilera. 

Of course, Christina Aguilera dreamed to have a happy family. In 2001 she met music exec Jordan Bratman and they fell in love with each other.

The couple had been dating within 4 years before they got married on the 19th of November, 2005 in Napa County, CA. Xtina seemed to be very happy and was going to become a mother.

On the 12th of January, 2008 her dream fulfilled and the star gave a birth to a son Max.

Unfortunately, the couple separated in 2010 and divorced officially in April, 2015. The reason is unclear, but once Christina used to tell that “they looked in different directions in their life”.

Now Christina Aguilera is engaged to Matthew Rutler, a backstage worker. The couple welcomed a daughter on the 16th of August, 2014.

Matthew seems to be so loving and careful about Christina and their daughter. The fans hope that this time their favorite singer would find happiness in family life.
