Laura Linney is an American actress, winner of four Emmy awards and two Golden Globes, as well as a nominee for three Oscars and five Tony awards.
Laura Linney began her film career in 1992, starring in the film Lorenzo’s Oil, where her partners were Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon. Soon, she got supporting roles alongside Richard Gere, Clint Eastwood and Jim Carrey.
In 2001, the actress was first nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her role in the family drama You Can Count on Me. Four years later, she was again nominated for these awards for her role in the Kinsey biopic about sexuality researcher Alfred Kinsey. The next Golden Globe nomination was for her participation in the youth film The Squid and the Whale. Linney also won an Emmy award twice for a cameo role in the TV series Frasier.
