Mariah Carey was born in a family of Alfred Roy Carey (his father was from Venezuela and they moved to USA, when Alfred was small) and Patricia Hickey (who is ethnically Irish). Mariah olive color of skin is explained by her father’s Venezuelan blood.

Carey family was not poor. Mariah father earned his living as an aeronautical engineer and her mother was an opera singer. Mariah has two siblings, a sister Allison Carey and a brother Morgan Carey.

When Mariah was just 3, her parents filed for divorce and it was a real tragedy for small Mariah. When the girl got older, she tried to cope with her depression, making new melodies and writing the words to them.

After Patricia and Alfred separation Alison moved to her father’s house and Mariah with her brother Morgan lived together with their mother. In her childhood Mariah talked to her dad very rarely and then even stopped communicating with him. Alfred Roy Carey died in 2002 from cancer and now the star very often tells in her interviews that she regrets, she didn’t spend enough time with her father.

Although Mariah’s career was always important for her, she had never forgot about her personal life and dreamed to create her own happy family.

The talented singer got married an influential music executive Tommy Mottola in 1993. She met Tommy at a party and gave him her demo. Tommy liked the young pretty woman and invited her to have dinner some day.

They tied a knot on the 5th of June, 1993 and spent 4 wonderful years together. Then in 1997 the couple got divorced.

In spite of negative experience, Mariah had made another attempt to become a happy wife and a mother. On the 30th of April, 2008 Mariah married an actor Nick Cannon. The wedding ceremony took place at Bahamian estate and Mariah looked very happy, although her friends worried about the singer as Nick was 10 years younger than Mariah and quite poor for her.

Three years later just on their wedding day Mariah gave a birth to twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe. Unfortunately, the sweet children didn’t save their parents marriage and in 2015 Nick and Mariah got divorced. The reason of their divorce is not clear, but probably it was Nick’s cheating.

Now Mariah Carey is ready to start the new life with her fiancé a billionaire James Packer. The couple got engaged at the beginning of 2016.
